Essentially Speaking:

Essential Oils To Promote Restful Sleep and Mental Agility

Essential oils are an excellent aid for a deeper, more restful night’s sleep, or to bring about stimulation and more energy. These are a few that top the list:

Lavender – is one of natures most versatile oils with many uses. It is highly prized for its lovely floral scent and is one of the most popular of essential oils. It soothes the skin, relieves burns, cuts, scrapes and bug bites. It is calming to the nervous system, stimulating to the brain and brings a strong sense of balance.  Lavender is often used to help relax and encourage a good night of restful sleep.

Clary Sage – is a tremendous aid in relaxation and relief of stress.  In my personal experience, I have used it for a sleep aid – It works amazingly!  Clary Sage also helps to balance emotions, stimulate hormones, and can act as a natural anti-depressant. It also possesses anti-spasmodic properties that help calm restless muscles.I created this simple but powerful blend several years ago, which has been a great help to many as a natural sleep aid:

Lullaby Mist:

Blend:

Clary Sage 3 drops
Lavender 5 drops
Distilled Water 3.5 oz

Mix in a 4 ounce glass spray bottle either amber or blue in color.  Cap immediately.  Shake well before each use.  Spray face, chest, pillows, and blankets for a wonderful night sleep. (Add a drop or two of SERENITY BLEND or BALANCE BLEND to broaden and sweeten the fragrance.

If it is invigoration that you seek, citrus oils are amazing at bringing forth a sensation of an early spring time.  These oils may be diffused aromatically, added to lotion or fractionated coconut oil and applied topically, or add a single drop to a tall glass or water for a tremendous flavorful refreshment. Do not drink citrus oils from plastic as the oil will draw petroleum from the plastic; use glass instead.

Citrus oils may cause skin irritation or react to sunlight or UV rays.  When using photo-sensitizing oils, wait a minimum of six hours before exposing skin to UV rays.  The stronger and more lengthy the UV ray, the longer the wait should be.

Lemon – like all citrus oils, lemon oil is a joyous mental stimulant and physical energizer.  Lemon stimulates circulation and has a stabilizing effect on the emotions and is helpful in the treatment of anxiety.  Lemon connects the spirit to the body of the higher self.  Lemon is a great choice to add a little zing to one’s day.

Wild Orange –  Wild Orange offers one of the most dynamic fragrances of all essential oils.  The combined, proven anti-fungal, antibacterial, and antidepressant properties make it one of the most powerful and aromatic oils to use.  It is excellent for disinfecting and killing fungus and pathogens, while relieving stress. It can be both energizing and uplifting, while being sedative by instilling feelings of peace  It is highly recommended for use during the early stages of cold and flu.

I welcome your questions you may have about the use of essential oil products.
